Slovak mobile operator Swan Mobile, operating under the brand name 4ka, has conducted the first public 5G video call in the country. The operator demonstrated the video call for journalilsts in the city of Banska Bystrica in the Central Slovakia. During the demo the speed reached 1 Gbps.
The mobile operator 4ka, which came as the fourth one to the Slovak market, conducted the test in cooperation with its affiliated company Swan, thanks to which it could use aggregation of frequency bands 1,800 MHz and 3.7 GHz. Swan provides primarily fixed network services, including fixed location services over LTE mobile network.
4ka expects to benefit from the next generation of mobile network in particular for provision of VoD services as well as for virtual reality in connection with drones and panoramatic camera.
The technology partner of the project is the company ZTE.
